Foundational training is the first step toward becoming a Venture leader and facilitator (also known as a VOLT) and enrolling in the Kinesiology Outdoor Leadership (KOAL) minor.
KNES 1231 - INTRODUCTION TO OUTDOOR ADVENTURES (IOA)
- A 2-credit class and the pre-requisite for declaring the KOAL minor
- The preferred modality for the foundational training
- Class time is a mix of interactive/experiential activities and lecture-based instruction
- End-of-semester camping trip is required for all those intending to apply to be an Apprentice
VOLT FOUNDATIONS
- A workshop series that substitutes Introduction to Outdoor Adventures (IOA)
- Good for those not able to enroll in IOA
- Workshops are a mix of interactive/experiential activities and lecture-based instruction
- End-of-semester camping trip is required for all those intending to apply to be an Apprentice
A SUCCESSFUL STUDENT:
- is excited by adventure activities
- appreciates self-reflection
- enjoys helping others
- has participated in Venture Outdoor Leadership programs
